Cedar Hill Rotary Doles Out Rally Proceeds
August 24, 2011 - The Rotary Club of Cedar Hill recently took time off from planning their big “2012 Head for the Hills” bike rally to distribute funds raised from the event last May. Monies were donated to:
Zula B. Wylie Public Library, where Texas residents cannot only check out books, audio books and access the Internet through the public access computers or the Wi-Fi network.
At an August meeting of the Rotary Club of Cedar Hill, Linus Wright, former Under Secretary of the United States Department of Education, called for the restructuring of public education. "America is losing its edge in producing highly intelligent, thinking, creative innovative young adults equal to the tasks that are even now presenting themselves worldwide," said Wright. The Cedar Hill Rotary Club of Texas had their fifth annual “Head for the Hills” Charity Bike Rally The Cedar Hill Rotary Club of Texas put on their fifth annual “Head for the Hills” Charity Bike Rally on May 7th, 2011. This Bicycle Rally has become a favorite annual event for bicycle enthusiasts in Texas and the surrounding states, as demonstrated by comments reported on BicycleStuff.com and the Rally’s Facebook Page. The Rally is highly recognized for its outstanding rest stops, friendly volunteers, beautiful routes, and food provided at no cost to the riders at the finish. The Cedar Hill Rotary Club of Texas, with its 40 members, works approximately 10 months of the year in the planning and execution of this premier event.
