RYLA is the Rotary Youth Leadership Award.  Our club sends up to four high school juniors to this one week summer camp each year.

Camp Hoblitzelle is home to Camp RYLA. Located only one hour south of downtown Dallas, this facility provides a unique and productive atmosphere for Camp RYLA activities. Facilities include air-conditioned cabins organized in separate villages surrounding meeting spaces, and a large lakeside dining hall for meals and events. Amenities include a swimming pool, volleyball courts, athletic fields, fresh air and a whole lotta sunshine.  The program teaches leadership of young people by young people and team building skills, and is awarded to young people who are rendering service to their communities.

Above, campers enjoy lunch, interact with each other and engage in team building at RYLA camp.

Almost 200,000 young people are involved in Interact worldwide.  The Rotary Club of Cedar Hill sponsors two Interact clubs:  one at the Ninth Grade Center and a second at Cedar Hill High School.

Each year, Interact clubs complete at least two community service projects, one of which furthers international understanding and goodwill. Through these efforts, Interactors develop a network of friendships with local and overseas clubs and learn the importance of

  • Developing leadership skills and personal integrity
  • Demonstrating helpfulness and respect for others
  • Understanding the value of individual responsibility and hard work
  • Advancing international understanding and goodwill

Rotary International encourages clubs to go beyond these two worthwhile New Generation programs, and reach out to children to meet local needs.  Toward this end, the Rotary Club of Cedar Hill sponsors a drive for school supplies that is coordinated through the CHISD.

Our Coats for Kids program provides coats for grammar school age children who might otherwise endure the winter months without one.
